# cowboy verify-deploy

> Confirm a deployment matches a reviewed build

`cowboy verify-deploy` compares a finished deployment with what you expected: its chain, owner, build and code hash. It changes nothing, so it fits at the end of a release process. It covers deployments with no off-chain image.

```text theme={"system"}
cowboy verify-deploy [OPTIONS] --expected-chain-id <EXPECTED_CHAIN_ID> --expected-owner <EXPECTED_OWNER> --expected-build-identity <EXPECTED_BUILD_IDENTITY> --expected-code-hash <EXPECTED_CODE_HASH> --manifest-json <MANIFEST_JSON> --init-handler <INIT_HANDLER> --init-payload <INIT_PAYLOAD> --fund <FUND> --max-spend <MAX_SPEND> --json <TARGET>
```

| Argument | Description |
| - | - |
| `<TARGET>` | Project actor target |

| Option | Description |
| - | - |
| `--expected-chain-id <EXPECTED_CHAIN_ID>` | Chain id expected by the reviewed release |
| `--expected-owner <EXPECTED_OWNER>` | Signing account and runtime owner set by the Actor initialization handler |
| `--expected-build-identity <EXPECTED_BUILD_IDENTITY>` | Exact identity emitted by the reviewed project build |
| `--expected-code-hash <EXPECTED_CODE_HASH>` | Exact hash of the reviewed compiled Actor code |
| `--manifest-json <MANIFEST_JSON>` | Exact reviewed manifest JSON file, encoded with the deploy codec |
| `--init-handler <INIT_HANDLER>` | Atomic initialization handler used by the deployment |
| `--init-payload <INIT_PAYLOAD>` | Atomic initialization JSON or @file used by the deployment |
| `--fund <FUND>` | Explicit positive amount funded to the Actor, in CBY |
| `--max-spend <MAX_SPEND>` | Approved maximum deployment outflow, in CBY |
| `--json` | Print one versioned JSON result. Required: this command has no human mode |

`--env` (or COWBOY\_ENV) and `--rpc-url` are required here: the environment the deployment was made in (configured, or a built-in one) and its endpoint. Without them the command fails with environment\_required or rpc\_url\_required.
