# E1415 — Permit signature does not recover to the owner

| Property | Value |
| - | - |
| **Code** | `1415` |
| **Slug** | `E1415` |
| **Category** | `token` (Token (CIP-20)) |
| **CIP** | CIP-20 |

## What happened

Permit signature does not recover to the owner.

This is the receipt's `what` text, produced by the node's `ExecutionError::TokenPermitInvalidSignature`.

## Why it happened

The node rejected the operation with `E1415` (category `token`, Token (CIP-20)). The receipt's `why` field carries the specific cause and `context` carries structured details, when the emitter attaches any.

The normative rule is in CIP-20.

## How to fix

Recover-check the permit's EIP-2612 typed-data fields (owner, spender, value, nonce, deadline) and have the actual owner re-sign.
