# E1814 — Token supply cap exceeded

| Property | Value |
| - | - |
| **Code** | `1814` |
| **Slug** | `E1814` |
| **Category** | `token` (Token (CIP-20)) |
| **CIP** | CIP-20 |

## What happened

Token supply cap exceeded.

This is the receipt's `what` text, produced by the host-call result `HostError::TokenSupplyCapExceeded`.

## Why it happened

The node rejected the operation with `E1814` (category `token`, Token (CIP-20)). The receipt's `why` field carries the specific cause and `context` carries structured details, when the emitter attaches any.

The normative rule is in CIP-20.

## How to fix

Lower the mint amount — it would push total supply past the token's max\_supply or the protocol-wide MAX\_TOKEN\_SUPPLY cap.
