# E1815 — Actor paused

| Property | Value |
| - | - |
| **Code** | `1815` |
| **Slug** | `E1815` |
| **Category** | `runtime` (Runtime) |
| **CIP** | CIP-12 §7.7 |

## What happened

Actor paused.

This is the receipt's `what` text, produced by the host-call result `HostError::ActorPaused`.

## Why it happened

The node rejected the operation with `E1815` (category `runtime`, Runtime). The receipt's `why` field carries the specific cause and `context` carries structured details, when the emitter attaches any.

The normative rule is in CIP-12 §7.7.

## How to fix

Wait for the security council to unpause the target actor before calling into it synchronously — a Council-paused actor rejects call\_actor host calls until explicitly unpaused.
