# E2006 — Volume operation rejected (E\_VOLUME\_RELAY\_UNKNOWN)

| Property | Value |
| - | - |
| **Code** | `2006` |
| **Slug** | `E2006` |
| **Category** | `storage` (Storage) |
| **CIP** | CIP-9 |

## What happened

Volume operation rejected (E\_VOLUME\_RELAY\_UNKNOWN): \{detail}.

This is the receipt's `what` text, produced by the node's `ExecutionError::RasVolume`. Placeholders in braces are filled from the failing transaction.

## Why it happened

The node rejected the operation with `E2006` (category `storage`, Storage). The receipt's `why` field carries the specific cause and `context` carries structured details, such as the values that filled the placeholders above.

The normative rule is in CIP-9.

## How to fix

An explicitly supplied relay is not in the relay registry. Use node\_ids from the registry, or omit relay\_nodes to let the chain auto-assign — which needs erasure\_k + erasure\_m Active relays with room, and reports E2005 if the registry cannot supply them. The receipt's detail names the node\_id.
